Even translation and localization work requires a usability check – especially when considering the long-term use of certain products, services, apps, or websites. We use functional, linguistic, and UX testing to measure how a target group reacts to translated content and optimize it accordingly.

Linguistic usability centers on functionality. The right translation for a particular phrase can vary depending on whether it’s used as a headline or a link, for example. The focus here is not on minor details but rather on navigation and comprehensibility, which can have a significant impact on website conversion rates of online stores or the learning process on e-learning portals.

A lot of thought is given to usability during product development in the original language, with significant time and money invested in testing. Competent translations are therefore needed to retain a product value.

Linguistic usability checks ensure the quality of the choice of words. Inappropriate word choice can lead to incorrect operation and thus reduced customer satisfaction, order termination or non-conversion due to ambiguity.

But functional usability can also suffer if the translation is not effective. With tailor-made usability assessments, we use simulations and tests (including eye tracking) to determine whether your solution is also effective in the translated version.

Does everything work without display issues? Can users with different cultural or educational backgrounds use the product easily? Are there problems in the foreign language version that are not found in the original version?
